Big Thanks
Friday, May 7, 2010 at 09:51AM Gotta give a big thanks to everyone who comped their time and discounted their rates for us. We couldn't run these productions with out the time and support of everyone involved.
Principal photography may have wrapped on supercreative ten last Wednesday, but Anthony still had still had two full days of plating ahead of him, before departing for the drive back to Toronto on Saturday afternoon. Gators, swampland, grassy knolls, palm trees and underbrush. He came back with a drive full of material to build into his images. Thursday and Friday we were back up in Coopertown, Gator Park, and the Fakahatche area. We even rolled back over to Cyde Butcher's property for some additional swamp looks and a little muck about. A couple of drinks later and last look at the beach, we were all back in the mini van for the drive. 24 hours and one west Virgina State Trooper issued speeding ticket later we were all safe at home. Not gator bites, no snake bites, and no sunburns.
Miami is done.
Anthony has a a week or two to image it all up before the files get dropped off to Dan at Jones House for our big printing run. "PILEGGI VS THE GATOR" goes up on the wall at 9 Davies May 27th - 30th and all prints are up for grabs at the opening on the 29nd. They are 32x48 inches so come by and throw down a bid.
Super big thanks to Chirstine + Ed at Christine Kelly Production for getting on board and hosting our first supercreative, south of the border. You guys put in a lot of work getting suppliers on board and setting the production up.
Jackie + Donna and Diana + Don and all the rest of the staff at Clyde Butcher's Gallery for the welcoming our production to their facility and giving us an exceptional location rate. If we had gone to fakahatchee, I'm quite positive someone would have gotten eaten and happy 2 would never of made it through the ten miles of off roading.
Bath House Miami - for the gear, thankfully it all stayed dry, no 7bs got dipped in the swamp water
Sean @ Happy Productions for Happy 2, our 40' winnie
Gilla Roos Miami - We didn't have the best of rates for talent for you to work with especially on a 14hr day, but the cast you got us was
great.
To our talent, James Miller, Maurice, Mario, Drew, Jarod + Mordecai, you guys rocked it.
Ford Artist's Miami for sending out Annie Goldmanmia + Cory for prop and styling assistance
Ace Props - for opening up their prop warehouse to us. We didn't pull much, but everything on the floor was available for Donna to pull from.
Peter Sutherland at PS&A for some fabulous spear manufacturing. I know you got busy at the shop and subbed out some moulding to Mike Sharpe, but his moulded fiberglas replicas were a perfect match to
Anthony's jpegs.
The staff at Gatorpark, for keeping Anthony safe during the gator plating, and letting us all get a little to close to something that could very easily bite off a limb of a naive Canadian.
Jessie at Coopertown Airboats, for the great everglades tour, the run to duck camp and saving my headphones from being lost forever in the belly of a gator.
Pam + Andy over at Sparks - for the liquor donation for the show opening on the 29nd
Dan at Jones House for all the big prints that he's going to run next Monday for the big exhibition
Graham at Headshots for the HD gear and hustling the marketing department at Henrys for some financial support.
The guys at Thrifty's on the Danforth for the great production rate and unlimited mileage on the van.
Mike Smith, I know you passed on some work to come help us out in Miami and put in far too many hours behind the wheel. It was great to have you there.
Donna for some stellar wardrobe, knife and necklace work. You are a master of the sculptee.
Peter D. You didn't end up on the road trip, but you were there in spirit, riding on the high seat of the airboat.
Anthony - It was a great time. Can't wait to see the series up on the wall. So happy you didn't get eaten when you were selecting your prized alligator at gator park.
See ya at the show.
